The John Day River is the longest un-dammed river in the continental U.S. and the single Pacific Northwest river with only indigenous salmon (according to NW Power & Conservation Council). The John Day is renowned for its superb bass fishing, rafting that includes Class V rapids, and scenic beauty. The river has received Congressional classification as a "Wild and Scenic" river.
